FAQ
-
is the patreon/subscribestar a one time purchase?
Patreon and SubscribeStar are monthly subscription services that give you access to the page for that month and only to content available at your tier. If you subscribe when a build is released, you can download that build. Once your subscription ends, you can no longer access those posts.
-
When is the next update? Update when?
We'll post new content each month.
These will drop on the first Tuesday of each month and roll out to lower tiers each following Tuesday.
For the in-depth explanation, here is the post. https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-release-152073170

When will the next free version come out?
Since we have restarted the game in a new engine, once the new Episode 1 is done, that will become the new free demo.
That will release on October 19th, 2026.
After that, there will be no further free demos. We will, however, update the demo to reflect changes to Episode 1.
-
Why won't you release the game for free?
We have eight people working at RadLord Studios. This is our job, and we each need to pay rent and buy groceries. If the game were free, we'd make less money. Less money means the game would take longer to make, since we'd be working on it between other jobs instead of making it full-time.
-
Will the game have Regional Pricing?
Absolutely. We truly value our international audience and will do everything we can to ensure the pricing is fair across all regions.
-
do any of your games us generative ai?
As a studio, we strongly oppose Generative AI. It plays no role in our process. We believe in creating games ethically by hiring talented people, not replacing them with machines. Additionally, Generative AI has significant negative environmental impacts, and legal uncertainties remain around these machines plagiarizing art.
-
When will the game be released on Steam?
Once Episode 4 is finished and finalized, we'll release the base game on Steam/GOG/Itch. We do not have a release date.
-
Will the game ever go into Early Access?
No, it will not. Our game will launch as a base game, with expansions to follow.
-
Will the finished game be on mobile?
When we finish the game, you will be able to purchase the Android version on Itch.io (if we can sell it there). You can also use Steam Remote Play to play your Steam copy on your phone.
It will not be an official game on the Play Store.
We will make a Patreon post where you can buy the game directly from us.
-
Can I play the game on my iPhone?
No, Apple only allows authorized apps on its devices, and it doesn't authorize porn games.
I have heard there are ways to get unofficial apps working on iPhone, but I am not going to provide that information.
-
How many Episodes/Chapters will the game have?
The game will feature 17 Episodes.
-
When will the game be translated into my language?
Once an episode is finished and the script is locked in, we will work with the community to create translations for different languages. More on this once Episode 1 is done and we start figuring out that process.
-
Can the player character be a femboy too?
No, the story is told from the perspective of a cis man whose horizons broaden. Making the player character trans or gender-nonconforming would completely alter the story and Isaac's view of every event in the game.
In a game like Skyrim, your gender/race/skin doesn't affect anything because you are still the Nerevar, and you don't have anything to say in the story. In our game, you are in Isaac's head and speaking as Isaac all the time. In this regard, our game is more like The Witcher, where you are playing a semi-predefined character.
It would be like making multiple games at once if we let you be a femboy or a woman.
-
Will the side characters ever become main love interests?
As cool and hot as they are, if I made everyone a main love interest, I would never finish the game. I want to focus on my core 7, which is already a lot. Side characters might have their own small stories to play, or they may have one scene.
-
Will there ever be a hint system for missing scenes?
No, there will not. The game is designed to be replayed, with each playthrough feeling different. Including a hint system runs counter to what we are trying to do.
It's a video game; you're meant to try, fail, and explore.
-
Can I listen to the game's soundtrack? Is there a place where the soundtrack is available?
We are releasing Soundtracks for purchase/stream on Bandcamp!

What is the Backer Code/Backer Guided?
This code is available to $20 tier backers and allows them to play a version of the game with a guided in-game walkthrough. When a backer code is available, it will be included in the $20 tier post for that build.
-
Why does each backer tier get a different version of the game?
After the initial release on the first Tuesday of the month, we stagger the releases so the game is released to each tier every week: $10, then $5, then $3. The version number changes because as the build is released to more people, backers find new bugs.
We fix those bugs, then create a new version. So, if v0.1.2 comes out for $10, then next week, $5 gets v0.1.3. This means players found issues, and we fixed them for the next version.
-
What is a "Hotfix"?
A hotfix is a small update to the game that fixes some problems, but it is not a big content update. A big content update would move the version number like so: v0.11.0.0 -> v0.11.1.0. If there was a hotfix, it would move like this: v0.11.0.0 -> v0.11.0.1.
A Hotfix does not automatically update your copy of the game, so you will need to redownload it.
We don't have the budget for a launcher that automatically updates your game, but we'd love to have one someday.
-
Can you add my character to the game as a side love interest?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Adding a new character takes enormous time and effort. We'd need to draw sprites with expressions and outfits. We draw CGs for those special or lewd moments. We must draw and animate lewd scenes. If that character requires specific locations, we'd need to draw the backgrounds. We must hire a voice actor for the lewd scenes. I have to write the character and find a good place to fit them into the story/world.
All of that is happening, and we're not working on the game we want to make. I have a plethora of characters/moments/scenes that I am dying to add to the game. There will never be a time when we can pivot to adding your character to the game. If we did, we would need significant financial compensation to derail the game and add your OC. It's just not viable, and I don't want to write your character for you in my game either.
-
what does buying a post on patreon mean?
You are buying just that post, and only that post.
It's there for people who don't want to be shackled to a monthly subscription and potentially forget to turn it off. For people who want just that one update.
This doesn't mean the post will be updated forever. If there are any bug fixes, the link will still work, and you can grab the newest version of that build. But once the next month rolls around, there will be a new post with a new link to a new folder.
-
Are you hiring?
We are currently at capacity for our budget. Once we start looking for new hires, we will update this page.

I tried joining the discord server but it kicked me.
Your account needs to be older than a week, you need a profile picture, and finally, if you don't verify here within the first hour of joining the server, you will be kicked.
-
I am subscribed to Patreon/Subscribestar but I am not getting a role on the discord server.
Double-check that your email for Discord matches the one you use for Patreon/SubscribeStar. Try leaving the server and coming back.
-
Why did you switch from Ren'Py to Unity?
Short answer: Ren'Py was way too limiting for what we wanted to do with the game. Unity allows us to implement more complex systems more easily than forcing Ren'Py to do it.
Long answer is this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/138772035 -
Why are you restarting the story?
When I first started writing Hazelnut Latte, I didn't really know the kind of story I wanted to tell. Originally, it was just that first scene with Hazel in Estro. But people liked it and wanted more, so I tried to figure out where to go from there. Along the way, I discovered the game I wanted to make. So when we switched engines, it felt like a good time to take another shot at telling this story. Now that I know where I want it to go.
